Close To Paradise
Hello Everybody! This is my second to last email on the mission. How crazy is that!? This week has been an absolute roller coaster. Lots of crazy things happened this week! So here you go! Lets get into it!
Pday was one of my favorites i have had in a little while! A bunch of us elders went up to this park just north of us to go fishing. We fished for a lot of the day. Plus there were a bunch of tables that we played games and stuff on. We caught a bunch of tiny tiny fish and one big one! And a bunch of water snakes and lizards. So it was a pretty fun day!
Tuesday we had a couple of service projects. We also had our mock baptismal interview with our friend Walter. We talked about it because we wanted to see what we had to focus on. He talked about a couple of things he might need to talk to president Cornelius about. So we will have to see how that works out. I think we will have to push it back a little bit. But after that we went and had dinner with our ward mission leader! Brother and Sister Blanchard are super cool and we got to play Skull King with them! I have never played it before. It was very fun! I just suck at it. I lost hardcore.
Wednesday was zone conference. I got to say goodbye to a bunch of my homies. It was pretty sad to be honest. I am super lucky the ones that were there were some of my favorites. I did miss saying Goodbye to Cheeks and Elder Merrill and Elder Weight. If you guys are on here. I love yall and I apreciate the time I have been able to spend with you! Ill see you again. Dont ya worry.
Thursday I was talking with one of the other elders that served in this area a little while ago! I asked him if there is anybody that they want me to hit up and see where they are at. One of them that was mentioned is this dude named Jamey. Jamey is a super cool guy that I guess was in some sort of biker gang for a while! He has been dating a less active member in our ward and When I called him we talked for easily an hour. He is so cool!
Saturday we went to lunch with Jamey! His girlfriend was in the hospital for some condition she has and so he asked if we could give her a blessing. And once we were done with that we went to lunch with Jamey. He is honestly so elect! He has been taught everything and is just waiting on having his son in law come and baptise him. So it will most likely happen within the next month or 2. So that is pretty legit.
Honestly I dont know what else to say. I have been loving this area a ton. We have had so many lessons and stuff going. Sadly lots of the people we are teaching arent very good at keeping commitments like going to church. And they never want to set up a time to meet. They want us to just show up and see if they are avaliable. It is honestly pretty discouraging. But I feel like we are doing way better than when we started. I think we will have 40 Non member lessons at the end of the month. So I feel like I have done pretty good in this area!
