The Show Must Go On...
Ya know, I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I really do, I have had so many experiences this week that has been absolutely incredible. I have said this so many times to lots of people but I honestly think this area that I am serving in is the most elect of every area I have served in. With the end of the month coming in we had to do a lot of numbers stuff. We learned that we were the highest teaching area in the zone that is not YSA. YSA is always crazy high. A couple weeks ago I was told that they felt like I was finishing at a sprint. I had so many things going my way and I absolutely was trying my heart out. This week I knew was going to be one of the fastest weeks I have had on the mission. I have loved every second of it.
Monday we decided to go to crater Lake. Another full circle moment for me. My second pday in the mission I was able to go to Crater Lake with My trainer Elder Kobob Hansen. Now my second to last pday in the mission I am going to crater lake, how fun is that? There was still around 6 feet of snow around the lake so we didnt get to hike down and visit the water. But we did get to see the breath taking view of Crater Lake. It always blows me away.
Wednesday we went on exchanges with my district leader Elder Nagel. I told him at the beginning of the exchange that we needed to hit our goal of 43 nonmember messages for the month. We needed to get 5 to be able to be close to the goal. We had 2 planned and had lots of time during the day. So We decided to do a bunch of phone calls. We were able to get the 5 for the day. It was kind of a cool experience because we were busy all day. One of the guys we had a lesson with is named Joel. He has been taught everything and he is just waiting on one small thing and he gets baptised. We also went and visited this other guy that was totally receptive and was super happy when we gave him a book of mormon! His name is Jack. We also went and visited this guy named Nick. He is a crazy disc golf guy. He also has been taught almost everything by the missionaries and just is waiting on a couple things to get baptised! So that is 3 awesome people right there! Crazy awesome day!
Thursday was our pday because we have the temple trip! So we got up super early and the plan was to go to the temple, then on the way home stop and fish at the Lake of the Woods because supposedly they were filling it with a bunch of trophy trout. So we went and fished for a few hours. We didnt catch much to be honest but it was a gorgeous place that I want to take my family back to when I can!
Friday we went and played disc golf with our new friend Nic. It was absolutely a blast. I am totally going to do it more often when I get home! Ill have to see what courses there are! I am going to play again on wednesday at a bigger course!
Saturday was the big day. I got to drive back up to Medford and witness Ben and Cindy Drake, a couple of members from the Merlin Ward that I helped reactivate, get endowed and sealed in the Temple of God. It was one of the coolest things I have been able to witness. Honestly, these 2 have become some of my closest friends. I love them so much! They are like my grandparents.
