"My Matabolism Cant Handle These jokes"
What is up my friends! I hope you are all doing fantastic. This week has been nuts. Lots of crazy emotions. Lets get right into it.
All day at the Hosptial!
Tuesday was a fun day! We got suprised and had Elder Seegmillers grandpa come say hi to us for a little bit! He reminds me a lot of Grandpa Guy. Really sarcastic and kind of annoying. But I love him. most of the time. Anyways, we were asked if we could go give a couple blessings at the hospital. We had 2 different ones that we needed to get done. Brother Carpenter was first. We show up and he is alseep. So we figured we would go over to Sister Hatchels and come back and he would be awake. We visit with sister hatchel for a long time. Probably longer than we should have. But we go back over to Brother Carpenters place and he was gone. We were so confused. One of the nurses told us that he was in the middle of some sort of test and that he would be done in 45 min. So we go over and sit in the waiting room and do some sort of contacting. After that we went and visited with brother carpenter and finnaly left the hospital after like 4 hours. It felt like forever. But it is done.
Another Suprise Baptism!?
Alright, Wednesday we got a message from our ward mission leader saying that there was a baptism going on saturday! We learn that one of the Friends the 8th ward elders are teaching is actually in our ward boundaries. His name is Joey. So we frantically tried to set up a little meeting with him because we dont know him at all. So that was fun. It was interesting how the elders in 8th ward didnt want to transfer him over earlier so our ward can get to know him and stuff before the baptism. It was a really strange situation.
We did have the baptism on saturday though! It was incredible! I love baptisms so much! They make me so happy watching people come closer to God through covenants is the best part of missionary work. Plus he got confirmed a member of the church in sacrament meeting Sunday! It was so exciting. Plus the priest quorum all helped him and welcomed him a ton. I love this ward so much. The members make the area so much better.
Putting an MS 13 member on date!?
Alright, crazy sunday! We went to church and had Joeys confirmation during sacrament meeting. Ran around a lot during second hour. But Joey loved sunday school with all the older age youth kids. After church we jumped in the car with Craig and Dawson and went and gave the sacrament to a bunch of the shut in members. These 2 young men are probably my favorites in the whole ward. We spent a lot of time saturday night with Craig just visiting people. Both of them are such good friends of ours. Some of the best! Kerry and Mike youll have to tell Jared and Jennifer Hill their kid is one of my favorites!
Anyways, we get home, have 10 min to get over to our lesson with our friend Alberto. Alberto is such a funny dude. He has a bunch of injuries from all his fun times. He has a messed up jaw, broken foot, missing eye to name a few. He is a hardcore gang member. But we have been working with him the last little bit and he has been praying about things we have been teaching him. He says it all just makes sense. The more he goes to church he says the more lines up. We now are starting to have him read from the book of mormon. He has loved everything so far and we even invited him to get baptised! He said he needs to read the book of mormon first! Jul 6 is the goal! I believe it will happen a lot earlier.
Otherwise, I dont really know what else happened that is notable for the week! This area is weird because it seems like we always have to scramble to find things to do from like 12-4. But after 4 we are always so busy. All of the members work. So it is difficult to meet with them! We will have to see what ends up happening. I love this area. I know I talk a lot of smack on it just due to the fact that we do not have a ton of people to teach but the ward members are some of the coolest out there. We have suspiciouns that I am most likely leaving this area on wednesday for transfers.
President has talked to me a handful of times this last week and has told me lots of things. One of which is he has asked if I could be one of the 6 missionaries that go home a transfer early. I didnt know what to think of this at first. But I have found that me going home at the beginning of June will allow me to put a couple of my trials to rest. Sometimes it is hard to look back at it and just realise that I went from 96 days in the mission to just over 40. LIttle bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me. But I still got a month left! I am going to try my hardest the whole way! Good things are happening! This area just baptised 1 and put one on date in the same weekend! Lets goooo!
I love you all! Talk to ya next week!
