Getting Bashed By A Blind JW
What is up everyone!? I hope you are all doing well! I honestly cannot believe it is pday already. This week has flown by. So lets get into the highlights!
Roxyanne
We went on a super cool hike on Monday! We lowkey ditched our district for district pday. But we really had a great time with the old district! Hiked up a peak and then went and played games and hit a nice leg day at a members house in 8th ward. Shout outs to the West Family. They are awesome
Maybe Reactivating a member!?
We had a lesson on tuesday morning with a lady named Dawn. She just moved into the area a little bit ago. So we stopped by just to visit and say hello to her. She told us all about her past with the church and how her family used to be part of the church but mostly to take advantage of it. She was super nice and Sister Sykes went with us to this and she was fantastic as well! She seemed so down to visit and to maybe come to church with us! Sadly she didnt come but we will have to see how it all goes over the next little bit.
Bashed By a Blind JW
This next story was definitely interesting. So all of Wednesday we were having no success. We did lots of visits and heck of a amount of public contacting. Nothing was going our way. No numbers no answers. Nothing. So to top off our already hard day we were approached while walking around and asked if we were the missionaries. We say yes and he says his name was Ray and that he was a Jehovahs witness. He started going off about the bible and started saying things about things we belive. I guess there are 144k people who will be rulers in heaven. But he was not wanting to be one of these rulers. I dont understand. But I really wanted to mention that we probably read the bible more than he did. I really have no idea how he recognized us. He is like 75% blind. I guess he has the ability to see light. I held my tounge though. Dont ya worry.
Exchanges with Elder Starley
Exchanges are always a fun way to split up the week and just to make weeks a lot better. Elder Starley came and was with me for the day on Thursday. We had lots of public contacting that day just like usual. But I ran into a couple that i helped reactivate in Merlin! I ran into Ben and Cindy Drake! They are legendary. They are preparing to enter into the temple. They really want me to go. So I hope that I stay south for that. I missed them so much.
We also got taken out to Killer Burger and tried out their famous Peanut Butter Burger. Elder Starley and I loved it. Kinda different but I would reccommend. Who would have thought that that was a good combination?
SERVICE
Alright, saturday was nuts. We had a service with the ward at 10 that was just helping pick up trash and stuff of the greenway here in Medford. A couple of the youth were joking with us saying that we needed to find the coolest item. Well we found an old Airpods case. So we won. Pick up your trash everyone it makes life so much easier.
the next thing we had saturday was a lesson with our friend Alberto. He has some very fun stories! He was like an ex cartell member and was telling us about how he built a little car and was running from the police at 260 miles an hour. I dont know how much of it was real but it was nuts. He like doesnt have an eye and his jaw is all messed up and his leg is all broken. So I think it would be even cooler to just assume it is real.
Alright last part, Clean up your trash! We had another service with a returning member of the ward. They are the worst hoarders i have seen. And they are just filthy. We were asked if we could put together a bed frame and help out with another couple of things. We round up a couple of priests and so we had 6 people show up to help clean out this house. Holy smokes. If I ever have boxes lining my walls and cat hair and food and whatever else just everywhere just shoot me. We were there for 4 hours. Elder seegmiller and i are just dying after the fact. We were so tired. The priests were troopers though. I think 3 of the 4 were allergic to cats. Shout outs to Craig Israelsen, Jackson Rasmussen, Harrison Bryan, and Roger Cropper. Yall are legends!
Grove kids
Ok i lied. We had a cool member experience today. We have been trying for 5 months to see if we can meet with this part member family here in town. We have been trying to meet with them by talking to sister brooksby her sister. But we finnally met with them today! They have 4 kids that arent baptised. all 4 of them are able to be baptised. We taught them the whole plan of salvation today. They are inredible. I bet they get baptised within the next month or maybe 2.
Sweet. That is all I have for you guys today. It was a crazy week. I am very tired. But it was a good week. I hope you all are doing well. If you need anything from me let me know. Talk to ya next week.
