Hard Goodbyes
Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well! I am still here! This is your weekly reminder of me one of the 3 favorite missionaries from Hurricane that is serving in the Oregon Eugene Mission! I Imagine im more like 2 or 3 because Elder Peart is pretty dang cool. Maybe he will see this, maybe not. Anyways, Here is the week!
Monday was one of my favorite pdays I have had! One of our awesome members decided that they wanted to rent out one of the Baseball fields here in Medford for us missionaries to hit on! So we got our district together which was around 10 people and we all went and hit around for a while! Everyone was telling me I should pitch because im the only one that could consistantly put it in the strike zone. So i thought that was kind of funny. Our members brought us some hot dogs and waters so that was fantastic. We were there from like 10-3. For some reason days at the field always end with someoen getting hurt. This week was no exception. One of the very last swings one of the elders hit a ball down the third base line and one of the sisters was there. She got smacked on the leg and it bruised pretty bad. We called it quits right there. As we all go sit down for a minute in the dugout one of the elders passes out. So we had an injured sister and a sick elder. It was the end of an awesome day!
Tuesday - Thursday wasnt crazy interesting. We did however get transfer news tuesday night. I learned I would be staying here with Parker! They cant split up the Hurricane Boys! I learned wednesday morning was when the missionaries that were going home were going to travel up north. So I was lucky enough to go say goodbye to one of my favorite companions. Elder Tufuga was probably the companion I learned the most from. He is one of the most humble people I know. It was a very emotional morning for me. He also gave us some of his protein powder and some chocolate macadamia nut things. He is such a legend. He also gave elder seegmiller a ton of weight stuff. So now we can hit the gym even harder durin this next transfer. As of writing this im down 20 pounds. So Im making progress.
Otherwise the rest of the week was pretty lame for the most part. We walked around in the rain for a while. Got drinks and hungout at an empty park. Tried to find people downtown going through shops. Just all the fun things. I have been trying. Just loving all the workouts anymore. They make me super happy.
One last thing, During district council we talked about what we call Iterations. It pretty much talks about like a procecss of change. So for my little activity I want you all to do, Imagine you are a little ways younger. Like high school times. I want you to think of the words Faith and Repentance. What did they mean to you back then? Write that down. Then I want you to think of what they are to you now. The meaning should have changed by then if you are fully trying to push for a better understanding of the gospel.
I have seen this over the course of the 20 months i have been out here. Me studying faith and repentance over the course of the mission has changed my perspective of them. Faith to me before the mission was more of a stagnant thing. Like I had faith or i did not. there was no in between. Now I understand it is a process. How you have to constantly try to understand it. To increase your faith.
I love the Gospel. I hope your studies have been doing good as well.
Talk to you all later!
