The Law Of The Squares

Hello Hello everybody! This is your weekkly reminder that I am still alive and kicking! I hope you are all doing well! This week was definitely something special! So here are the highlights!

Volleyball!

Pdays here in springfield are very different. In my last couple areas we would get all together and play games or go on a hike. In this area it is a little different. Half of the zone likes doing one thing and the rest of the zone gets to fend for themselves. We are part of the people that get to fend for ourselves! So we usually try to play some pickleball and do other sports just to get moving. This week we were able to play volleyball! And for those who do not know, my comp is very bad at volleyball! Lets just say I can now tell people what it feels like to be on the receiving end of an 80 mile an hour volleyball coming at my face! Good thing I am so much better than him!

Sister Karps Steak

We got a call from one of our less active members who asked if we could come help trim up her grape vines that she has in her backyard! So we go over there and she is definitely someone I feel like we can get to come back to church. She is such a nice lady! So nice in fact that she asked if she could make us some steaks for our lunch after the service! Suprised, we accepted! To our demise! We go sit out on the front porch and start eating these steaks! The first bite was not bad. But the second one and the rest of the steak was cold. As we were sitting there trying our best to enjoy these steaks Elder Tufuga and I kept looking at eachother in disbelief. I know it sounds like we are just making fun of her but the only reason I am bringing it up is this last thing. As we were eating I looked over by our truck and this little kid walks around the front side, pulls down his pants and just starts peeing and staring at us. Lets just say, we had a really good laugh when we got back home.

The Law of the Squares

On wednesday we had MLC. President Cornelius invited his good friend Brother Riggins who is a Religion professor at BYUI. During brother Riggins portion he talked a lot about what he would call "The Law of the Squares." It talked a lot about how important it is to be obedient because as it says in D&C the law preserves, perfects and sanctifies us. While in the mission they are talking about the standards and safeguards, I feel like this can be important for everyone to know as well! He talked about how every single place we go whether it be home or school or even like work or costco all these "Kingdoms" have laws or we will not be able to be there. Costco for example, you could sneak in, you could go grab you some delicious rotiserre chicken, and whatever else. But when you go to check out you will not be able to because you do not have a membership card. So all kingdoms have laws, and as disciples of Jesus Christ, in order to go live with him in his kingdom, he has laws in which his Kingdom has as well! These laws are  known as covenants. These laws follow us whereever we go. So we have to follow our covenants as well as get a membership at costco if we wish to buy things from costco. He mentioned all sorts of scriptures that talked a lot about this. So if you guys would like those, send me a message!

Blue River

I am sorry, this email is already super long. But I have one more story I wanted to share. On Saturday I got to go to exchanges with the zone leaders to blue river. If you guys dont know where it is, that is ok. They have like -10 people there. But we got to go help out with a couple of services over there. We helped clean up the branch building. Then we had a delicious BBQ! The last thing is when we went over to one of their members houses for dinner that evening. They told us that we would be helping them with a service so we showed up in service clothes. But the service they were wanting us to do was to hangout with the 3 day old chicks that they had. It was very fun!

Anyways, Sorry about the super long email. I figured I rarely have super long ones so you guys would be ok with reading it. I hope you all have an awesome week this week and take care!
