4th Of July

Well this week was one of the least exciting weeks on the mission! We had so many things just cancel and really nothing happened. So this is going to be one of my shortest emails. I did have one very valuable lesson that got reminded to me this week though.

Gratitude is something that a lot of people take for granted. Gratitude is so important if you are wanting to stay happy during hard things! One of the Elders that we hangout with pretty often grew up in a very very wealthy family and went to mexico like every weekend to go surfing. It is crazy! But out here he is always complaining about other people and about how hed always rather be home and talking like everything he says is factual. He always ticks people off and is just not very fun to be around. So my companion and I decided to bring it up to him in hopes that we can help him become a better guy and everyone can be happier!

We inviteed him and his comp to come over and we made some delicious food. We started talking and all of a sudden this Elder starts freaking out and saying we have no idea what we are talking about. He tries to storm off and leave, my comp grabs him and holds on to him for a minute just to calm him down and to tell him to just hear us out. He started going off about how my comp was creating a hostile environment. They ended up leaving after a little bit and now they do not hangout with us very much.

Though there is a lot of beef between us right now I feel like he reminded me that gratitude is so very important. When you have gratitude you genuinely become happier. Realise that the things that you have around you are gifts from God. I dont know why I wanted to talk about that but there you go!

The only other fun thing that happened this week was on Pday! I would hate to rub it in but one of the Offensive Lineman from the University of Oregon called a couple missionaries up and asked if we wanted to go tour the facility! It was crazy nice! The guy that took us name was Dave Luili he is number 52. It was so cool going through the facility and seeing things like the weight room and the locker room and stuff. We got to see where they made all the helmets and the armory. There was also this room where it was like a confernece room where the top performing players in a game are interviewed and stuff. It was so cool!

That was this week! I hope you all are doing good and Ill talk to ya next week!
