So Long Partner!
Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of summer break! Not much has changed here to be straight up honest. Here are the highlights for the week!
Poetry for Neandrethals with the Delunas!
At the beginning of the week, most of the days we kind of had set apart to help Mort finish up his stuff to Peru! He was supposed to leave the 8th and he had a bunch of stuff to get ready to do! One of the biggest things was he wanted to transfer his photos to a usb so that he can still take photos on his phone! That took so long! But at the end of that day we went over and ate dinner with the Deluna family! One of my very favorite families in the ward! They are so cool! After dinner they asked if we had anything else planned for the night and we just played the game Poetry for Neandrethals with them! It was so fun! I really appreciate them for making this ward so fun!
Chicken Bonz
Ok so funny story, we had one of the Elders have a birthday on Monday so he decided he wanted to go to this Chicken wings place for his birthday. This place is pretty dang good! They do this deal where you can have all you can eat wings for $25. The elder with his birthday did it. Elder Mort and I were good friends with our waitress because we have came over here with one of our less actives before and we just talked to her then. We learned that by request you can get this Ghost pepper hot sauce on your wings. So we ask if she can put this sauce on a couple of his wings just as a prank! So we are anxiously waiting and there is little to no response with Elder Wilson! We were so suprised! So we asked if she could do it again! They do it and the same thing happens! She keeps peeking around the corner at us and she was so suprised! After everyone was headed out Mort and I were talking to her and she said she has never had that happen. So there you go! Dont worry we also invited her to a YSA activity in the future and she said she would probably go!
So Long Partner!
I kind of hinted to this a little bit earlier but Elder Mortensen got his visa figured out and he is supposed to leave the 8th. So on the 8th Elder Tufuga and I got to drive him to the airport at 4 in the morning. It was very sad seeing one of my best friends in the mission leave. Ive known him since like November! One of the Elders I have served with the most on the mission! I think that there were only 3 transfers so far that I have not served in the same zone as him. He is a good friend of mine! He will be missed.
The day was a little strange because we decided that we could go back to bed to make up for the lost sleep and so it was a little later start than we thought it would be. We did still do a lot of work though!
My Boy Andrew!
Andrew Booren is one of my favorite people ever! He is a graduating senior that has been trying his best to go on splits with us so he can prepare for the mission! We had an awesome split with him where we taught a couple lessons and did a lot of contacting! We also had the opportunity to go over to the YSA for their senior sunday thing with him! He is very excited to go! He is going to finish up his mission papers this week probably and put them in! We also got to be there when he was ordained as an Elder! Drew if you see this just know I am proud of you! My little padwan is all grown up! Love ya dude!
Anyways, that is kind of all we have for this week! The work is moving along here in Springfield and it is only going to get better! I love you all and I hope you all have an amazing week!
