Hidden Mickeys
Hello Everyone! Another week has gone by! Time flies when your having fun I guess. I really dont have a ton to talk about this week but here are the highlights!
Tuesday was by far the busiest day this week. We had a ton of different less active members we had lessons with. One of them has been inactive for 15 years. We show up and we talk about their life story and they said they had issues with some people from the ward. But that was 15 years ago. So when we asked if she wants to give church another try she... still said no. Oh well. Her husband was showing us his cool cars though! He said that he has been doing mechanic work since he was like 14 years old. He has been buying and trading old classic cars for a long time. He has 2 at the moment. He showed us his 1946 Chevy Suburban and e also had a Model T but they had so much junk in their Garage that we didnt get to see it. I figured Papa would appreciate those!
That same day ww had another lesson with another less active family. We show up and they were one of the nicest people ever! We talked about temples and how amazing they are. They have been less active for like 3 years since covid. They did talk about how it was about time that they were to come back to church and the Son talked about how he wants to go to the temple! They seem super promising. We will try to meet with them on Tuesdays.
On Thursday we got to go up to the Portland temple for our Pday! I love the temple so much! It is incredible every time I go! The temple was massive! After our session me and a couple other elders start heading out and we got lost trying to find our way back to the dressing room. We ended up over a the baptistry and getting back from there. It was very strange. All the workers were looking at us like we were Idiots. It was very funny. I also was looking at the Facsimilies in the book of Abraham and it talked about how there are certain symbols that are in the Holy temple of God! I was looking for them going through the temple and I could not find them! My mom talked about how it was like the hidden Mickeys at Disneyland! So next time you guys are going through the temple you guys better be keeping your eyes out for the hidden Mickeys!
Last experience. On Sunday we decided to use our dinner hour and go hit some baseballs over by the church building with Elder Lawson and Larson. So we are hitting and Elder Lawson pops one up and it goes into the backyard of the house behind us. So we go to knock on the door of this guy to retrieve the ball. He goes and gets it for us and started talking to us for a minute saying he appreciates us for not just jumping the fence to get the ball. As we were leaving he calls us back and he walks towards us with tears in his eyes. He told us that he was not mormon but he was just going through a lot and needed all the prayers he can get. So please keep Darryl in your prayers. We will be checking in with him on Wednesday. This seriously was one of the strongest spiritual experiences I have had on the mission. Instantly we were getting goosebumps and just felt the spirit very strong. Please keep him in your prayers!
I am going to be honest. I have no idea what else to talk about so I am going to just end it by saying I love you all and I hope you guys are doing well. If you guys want please message me and Id love to talk with you!
