6 Months In Medford 3rd!

What is up everyone!? I hope your all doing well! First things first, we had transfer news last night and I guess I am staying here! I was for sure thinking I would be leaving because I have been here for 3 but I guess the lord has some more work for me to do here! I also, am staying with Elder Holmes and he is my first companion that I am staying with for a second transfer so that is kind of exciting! He is such a cool dude and I feel like we get along and work together great!


Anyways lets get into the highlights!


Burritos and Board Games!
Saturday night the Elders Quorum decided to do a little party if you want to call it that. It was actually pretty fun! We tried to invite a bunch of people to it but nothing ended up working out. The only person we got to show up was our friend Eric which is good! I also just got destroyed at the great dalmuti. So sad. 


The importance of being BOLD
So I have been thinking about it, we have been street contacting like absolute nuts here in this area. Just happens because we are on bikes and such. Anyways, 90% of people we talk to will just tell us to leave or they dont want to talk or somehting along those lines. In those instances we just have to testify of what we know to be true. Ive been telling Elder Holmes he needs to quit using the words We believe. He needs to be changing it to I know. Saying I know changes the game. Someone can always rebuke a we believe statement. But when you say I know they cannot say anything. If your a missionary, try it out. There is no doubt in my mind you will sound more confident and bold. Which attracts attention. 


 Satan has a great hold on these people.
 We run into a ton of people that are not wanting to change their lives. I mean, it is so hard! I am lucky to have been born in the covenant! For example, we talked to this one guy that was asking if our church supported weed and nicotine. So we kind of said no but we emphasised that we could help him quit. He said that him doing this weed helps him with his diabetes. From my little knowledge from my good friend MKceigh Dorkus, I don't think that weed helps lower your bloodsugar levels. Anyway, he told us he would come to church if he could smoke in the back and stuff and so we are glad he didnt show up. He told us that between nicotine and weed he spends like 2500 a year on that junk. He told us his parents have been trying to get him to quit for a long time. He is 21 so just barely older than I am and he said he has been smoking for like 7 years. The sad truth is that back in the day you were the scum of the earth when you did all the drugs. Nowadays the government is paying you and giving you shelter and food stamps and all this stuff. A lot of these people just use the $800 and spend it on drugs. Satan has a strong hold on these people. 


Studies this week!
Elder Holmes and I have decided to buy ourselves an old Testament Study Guide! (Thank you Hoover!!) We have been going crazy studying it! It has the actual scripture in the center and it has all thesee helpful tid bits on the outsides! It has helped me understand so much more about just Genesis so far! One of the coolest things it told me about that I didnt know of before is that the place where Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac is the same place where Jesus Christ was offered up on the cross! So that was so cool to me! Isaac's sacrifice is related a lot to the sacrifice of the only begotten son! It has been so helpful to me! I encourage you guys all to use all the tools you can to get everything you can about the scriptures it helps a ton. 
There is one more little thing I have learned this week from the new testament. I was reading in Colossians and it talked about how Jesus Christ has all our sins on his placard. This is super cool because back in that time when someone is crucified they would always dishonor the person by writing the sin they committed and putting it on a little card on the cross. I thought that was super neat!

Hello everyone! No I did not forget to write my email this week. It was really weird last night and this morning and so I decided it was fine to write it tonight. I hope everyone is doing well! This week was full of ups and downs so lets get right into it.  Nostalgia On Tuesday I had the opportunity to go on an exchange with my old companion Elder Holmes. He was one of my favorites so I was very excited to see him and work with him for the day! We decided to make some chicken wings for nostalgic purposes. When we were together over a year ago the ward was not the best at feeding us. So we would make these chicken wings that had a delicious sauce that we had. It was a combination of Parmeson Garlic Buffalo Wild Wings and chic-fil-a sauce! Dont knock it till you try it. Though you dont need to look at the nutrition label when you are eating them. Birthday!

Hello people of the email list! Welcome to this weeks email! This week was kind of slow except for the last couple days so I guess lets get into it.  John's situation: Well we learned that my good friend and only progressing person that we are teaching had his hours changed. So that means he cannot really do our 3 meetings a week and it might be back to 1. We are hoping that he will want to meet with us at his own home. I guess this is the ultimate test of faith. Does he really want to keep progressing or does he want to just drop it right there? I guess we will find out! District council: This week in district council we talked a ton about Covenants and how important they are. President Nelson talks about how once you make a covenant with our Heavenly Father it is like a chain. He will never give up on you. Even if someone might not be living the covenants fully he will still be willing to help you get back on track and hold on to the iron rod. I absolutely love talking about cove...

Hanging Out With An Instagram Star!

Hello Hello my friends and my family! I hope you are all doing well! Thank you all for the birthday wishes! Especially the Gilbertsons for driving all the way from Merlin to come hangout with me! I love you guys! I appreciate the support! Now I cant blame all my problems on my troubled teenage years! But dont worry, I know guys that never seem to grow out of being a teenager! ;) *Cough* my dad *Cough.  Anyways, This week has been really interesting! Ever since ive been put into the area I feel like I have been struggling. I went from Merlin to here. Where we were teaching a ton of people to nobody. So this week I decided to put my head down and just get as much done as possible.  Last week at interviews I was talking to president and he told me he has been wanting to change our area as well as the area next to ours to a bike share area.
