Swimming On The Mission
Well my friends, my family, members of the email list. It is that time of the week again. You get to hear from me! Congratulations! This week has been so crazy! Here are the Highlights!
Hanging out with Elder Bush
Tuesday was transfers. Elder Larsen got transfered over to Eagle Point. Like 30 minutes from where I am now and I did not have a companion because my trainee is supposed to come late Wednesday night. So I got to hangout with my friend Elder Bush. Elder Bush has been out for just over a year and lets just say I have not seen anyone so in tune with the spirit while I am out here. He can pull random scriptures out of his head on a dime and he can help people feel the spirit so strongly. We were on a mission to contact a lady that wanted a book of mormon in Thai. Which was unusual. He got talking to this one guy and had a whole spiritual conversation with him and it was so cool. I am kind of inspired by him. He asked him one simple question, "If you could ask Jesus Christ one question, what would it be?" This is so cool to me because one simple question lead to us giving out a book of mormon and having a meaningful conversation with this guy.
My Child!
I got my boy late wednesday night! His name is Elder Fossat. Like Faucet but Fossat. He is from Spanish Fork and he is super cool. I think him and I get along better than Elder Larsen and I did. I dont know we just do super good! He is a visa waiter. His original mission is over in Brazil. So he will probably only be here for a transfer or 2. He is super cool though and has a ton of good spiritual insights.
Babtisms for the Dead
One of our newly babtised members asked us if we could go with her to do babtisms for the dead for her family. She has made a goal to personally babtise everyone in her family. So she wants to go to the temple a ton! I told her that she could do the research and send them to the temple and she said she made the deal with God that she would do it. This was also Elder Fossats first day! So he got to go swimming on the mission his first day in the field. Between the 3 of us we probably babtised 35-40 names of her family. She was so happy. It was such a special time for us.
Babtism on Febuary 25th
On friday we had district council and it was awesome like usual. We also had a meeting with John, De des Caregiver. He has told us in the past that he prayed about the Book of Mormon and felt peace but he didnt realise that was the Holy Ghost telling him it was true. So we did a little lesson talking about revelation and the promptings of the Holy Ghost. He realised that he knew the Book of Mormon was true and he set his babtism date for the 25th of Febuary! We were so stoked for him! Elder Fossats first real lesson in the field too! He has a 100% babtism rate so far!
Spiritual Thought
So for the spiritual thought this week I want to ask each of you the question Elder Bush asked, "If you could ask Jesus Christ one question what would it be and why?" This question is kind of hard because you know that he is all knowing. He knows our intentions. He knows everything we are going through and have been through. I honestly have been sitting here while writing this email for like 20 minutes thinking about the question. It is incredible to think about.
Anyways, I love and miss you all! This week has been pretty hecktic with my son and with new meetings and such but I will keep pressing on! Jesus is the reason for the Season! Merry Christmas you all! Next time I write will be the day after Christmas so I hope it is incredible! Drink some eggnog, go look at lights, spend time with family. But just remember, Jesus Christs birth is what we are celebrating. Go watch the Christ Child on gospel library. It is an incredible nativity movie that the church just realieased for Light the World! Merry Christmas and Take Care!
