I Am Pretty Much A Powerlifter!

Well hello people of the email list! I hope you are all doing well! I had an insane week this week!

BLESSING!
On monday we were given a referral from the sisters in Salt Lake City asking if we could go give this lady a blessing. She was in the hospital and they did not know how long she had left. So we gave her a blessing  of comfort. I love giving blessings. I feel like I am so in tune with the spirit but it is so nerve wracking at the same time. A perfect Combination if you ask me.

POWERLIFTER!
Alright so there is this inactive member in our area that we wanted to go visit and see what is up and why she hasent been back to church in the last little while! We learned later that her husband is a WORLD CHAMPION powerlifter! He had so many different trophies in his garage/gym that it was ridiculous! He holds a bunch of records for people in the age group 60-70. So us being us, we asked him if we could work out with him! So Sam (That is his name) said that his trainee Derek (Who is a member) Was in the area on Tuesday! So we went and worked out with Sam and Derek working on our bench press skills. We might have gotten a little shown up. But they said I had a ton of potential if I really wanted to pursue that as a hobby. So maybe I will be a powerlifter when I grow up! But dont worry! It was not all fun and games. We got to visit with his wife and she might be coming back to church soon so win win!

Disciplining children
So there is this guy named Kevin we have been trying to come to church. We have been pretty sucessful except for the fact that he hates disobedient children. So at church last week he came and on Wednesday we asked him what he thought of it because it was fast and testimony meeting. He told us we should be embarassed to invite people to our church because of the not disciplined kids in the church! So we asked him a very deep thoughtout question. "DId you like church when you were a kid?" And of course he was like no so we talked about how it is a blessing to have the kids there in the first place! We talked about how in some families it is like a miracle that the kids were all dressed in time for church. So that was kind of an interesting lesson. He just cannot get over how kids are kids. and they do kid things even in church.

SMOKING PROBLEMS
Yes you guys guessed it, I started smoking. Just kidding, But that is what I smelled like after just spending a half hour at this ladies house in our ward. We have been trying to help her stop smoking because it is giving her so many different health problems it isnt even funny. Plus everything she owns smells like smoke. Plus her caregiver has been wanting to hear the lessons as well so we go visit around once a week to share our lessons and to see how he is doing as well. He seems like he is progressing pretty smoothly. He might even get babtised soon. After this lesson I had to wash everything I was wearing because it reeked of cigarette smoke. Do not smoke kids. It is not good for you!

TUB OF PASTA
So on Saturday I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with Elder Wells. My goal was to work on my public contacting as well as my teaching ability. Both of which I realise just takes more time than I want. But anyways, for lunch Elder Wells and I decided to make some pasta. The only box of pasta we had in the apartment was a pound of pasta. So rather than doing half of the box and forgetting about it we decided to make the whole thing. Plus we put a pound of sausage in it as well as a pound of sauce! So In all we had like 3 pounds of pasta made for us! We put it in this giant tupperware. Over the course of Lunch and dinner we ate this whole tub of pasta. So you guys can choose to be ashamed of me if you would like but I am kind of proud of us eating this 3 pounds of pasta!

Anyways! That is all the fun stories from this week! Maybe they made you laugh, maybe they didn't. But I definitely enjoy the opportunity to be out here on my mission. To help people draw closer to Christ as much as I can! It helps me gain my testimony as well!

SPIRITUAL STUFF
So I realised how much of an impact I could make by reading and knowing the new testament as well as the Book of Mormon. So in my personal studies I have been trying to read through the new testament. I read in Mark 2 today about the man who was sick of the Palsy. How some of his friends literally tore apart the ceiling to lower his buddy in so the savior could heal him. They had so much faith! Before the savior decides to heal him he tells the man "Thy sins are forgiven thee." The people were like I thought only God could forgive people of sins. verses 8-10 say
8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

So my question for this week is this: Why would Jesus say that this mans sins are forgiven before healing him? I you guys would like I would love to hear your guys answers!

I love you all and I hope you all have an amazing week this week!
