Eggnog In Stores= Christmas Time
Just letting you guys know, EGGNOG is in stores!! That means it is Christmas time right?? Elder Hansen and I think so!! 105 days away! It is Practically tomorrow!
And for the haters who say that I cant celebrate, christmas right now. Is it a bad thing to celebrate the birth of our Savior? The savior can be celebrated always.
Anyways, I went to a rodeo this monday with the Alturas Elders. LakeView is very famous for the rodeo over labor day. So we decided to not be lazy bums and go to this awesome Rodeo. They had all sorts of crazy high ranked people. It was probably the best rodeo I have been to. I forgot to take a lot of pictures. My bad! I know I am lame.
Tuesday we were supposed to meet with this dude named Chris. He ended up not being able to make it sadly. It would have been cool to start teaching him and start with his path towards salvation and babtism. But we ended up teachig him about faith and how trials keep you closer to Heavenly Father. He has been going through a lot of stuff and I hope that our lesson helped him feel the spirit at least a little. We are teaching him again tomorrow so I will keep you posted.
We also went and visited Jack. We just helped him with stuff around the house and pulled weeds and stuff. He gave us 2 full chickens because his daughter was murdering a bunch of hers and she wanted to share. So he shared with us and now we have to find a way to cook a chicken. Kinda excited. We also had the lesson for the come follow me for the week. I feel like we have taught a ton of stuff for church this week.
Wednesday we had to travel to Medford. We woke up at like 5 which is super early. Then we went to the Pear Orchard in Medford and it was super fun. We got fired... They did not like that there were missionaries on latters for some reason? It was kinda dumb. I am blaming Elder Green because he was like not adjusting the latter and reaching super far to get the pears. We enjoyed making stupid puns about the pears while we were there. It was quite a shame when the pears "Pearished." hahahahahaha I am so funny.
After the pears we went to the Temple. I love going to the temple. it allows me to feel peace. I Invite you all to go to the temple. It allows feelings of peace and comfort while you are there. You are legit in the house of the lord. The spirit dwells there very powerefully.
Thursday we accidentlally had 2 different dinners. We had no idea that we were supposed to go to this one house for dinner and we were already at this other house when we learned. So we ate dinner and dessert 2 different times on thursday. We did not know about it so dont blame me.
The rest of the week has been mostly just meetings and such. We had stake conference where they talked about the importance of missionary work and how to involve members. It was actually a good talk.
Now the fun part: My Croc Review. I got the red ones with the band on it. I actually suprisingly like them! Not because Elder Hansen would make me suck a lemon if I didnt but I do like them. They are nice and easy to wear and they have sport mode. Idk take it with a grain of salt but I do like them.
Spiritual Part. I have felt the spirit the most this week at the temple. Though I feel the spirit throughout the days through helping people come closer to Christ, the temple trumps the whole thing. The temple is the house of the Lord.
I have been reading the book Saints about the restoration and the history of the church over the past few weeks. It has allowed me to learn a ton more about the church's history. Though I went on the Church History Tour last summer, this dove deeper into the nitty gritty details that make the history that much more interesting. For example, I read about Hawn's Mill the other day. When I went and visited it last summer I kinda had no idea the significance of it. Then reading about it kind of put it into a perspective for me. Knowing the stories of the people as they were hiding helplessly from the mob as they were shooting through the holes in the barn. There was around 20 people that got murdered in cold blood that day. They also shared a miracle about how one of the kids were blessed with a fixed hip when his got shot out.
I invite you all to read this book. It is on gospel library or you can get it at deseret book for like 6 bucks. I also found out there is a way to do a study plan on gospel library. It allows me to know what to read in the Book of Mormon every day. You can schedule when you want it finished by and it will distribute the chapters evenly throughout the days. I have like 3 chapters a day. I invite all of you to do this as well. If you arent doing the best at reading every day this will help you keep a schedule.
