Do You Like Crocs?
Hello people of the email list! It is me Elder Reynolds! I hope you are all doing swell! I pray for you guys every day.
Well this week has been kinda crazy! For P day we went to the lava tube cave thingys. I dont know what they are called. But it was so so cool! That is one place I would definitely want to go visit when I go on my mission tour with my family! It was absolutely amazing! It was way nice to get out of the heat even if t was for a short time. It is like 95 degrees here in LakeView on most days which makes it kinda fun to go do outside services. I am very grateful I can wash my clothes back at my appartment lets just say. But it was like 30 or so degrees in some of the caves. In one of them there was this old mountain goat skull which is kind of cool! And we almost got lost in another one. That would have been a little embarassing to have to wait for someone else to come rescue us. We were debating about if there was some sort of wild beast in the cave who would fight it off. Elder Hansen told me that it was his dream to fight a bear with just w bowie knife. So I volunteer him! Sorry Elder Hansen.
The rest of the week was mostly just services like usual for LakeView! Tuesday we went and visited this lady named Betty who just had her husband pass away. She is a nonmember that we have done service for in the past and we figured we could stop by and see if she was alright and bring her flowers and such. We ended up sharing a little message with her and she sounded like she wanted to meet with us more! We were excited about that! Then we went and helped Jack move logs again. This time he fed us some super delicious chicken from the barbecue. Super good! Then we went and finished building the pumphouse we started a while back! It looks kinda ghetto but itll do.
Wednesday we helped Jasmine and Debra put together a bed frame which was kind of special because it was in the heat of the day and we had to saw some 2x4s with no power tools. Super exausting but we got it done dont worry. Then we went and split wood with Shane! Shane is this super cool dude that lives maybe 35 min from LakeView. He had this pile of wood that he wanted us to get done and then he was suprised when we got it all done? Idk what he was thinking! He offered to let us come bbq with him on Saturday! I am kind of stoked for that! He is so cool! Thursday we went over and supported a ton of the ward kids with their 4-H hogs. They all have been working to get these pigs in show shape and they were selling them. It was so cool to go watch! I just know how much hard work and dedication the kids had with these animals and I was very proud of them. One of the kids have been doing these competitions for a long time and he has his whole mission payed for just through hogs. Kinda awesome!
Friday we finished up with the 4H and went to district council. Well we attended on zoom which was kind of hard because we couldnt hear a darn thing. So when we couldnt hear anything Elder Hansen tried so hard to convince me to buy a pair of Croc Shoes. He even told me that he would pay for half of it! So I had my mom buy them and am having them shipped here. So i might be doing a review for the crocs once I try them out! Youll have to stay tuned for that! Afterwards we went and helped Adrianna move her stuff from her old Fifth wheel to her new one. We learned that the new one is still a piece of junk but it is hers and she loves it so the ward is going to try to fix it the best they can. Lastly we went and worked on building Sister Staci's shed. It was supposed to be an "Easy snap together" Shed but it had all these little things and the instructions sucked. We ended up working on that shed for around 3 hours that first night. We were very lucky to have this young couple help us with it. It was nice to have 6 hands to work on it.
Saturday we helped this lady move and build a bed in her upstairs. She has those like windy spiraling stairs so it was super fun trying to get this giant bed moved from her friends house to upstairs. The box spring underneath the mattress was even worse! It would not bend around the corners and so we just kind of had to man handle it up the stairs. Kind of annoying. But she gave us these super good cinnamon rolls from bottom of the Barrel Bakery. And then she gave us a $50 gift card for over there too! I am super grateful for her and her hospitality. She is amazing. Next we sanded a deck for 3 hours! Super fun!!
Sunday we had to teach the sunday school lesson with little to no time to prepare! So we just relied on participation from the rest of the people! It actually turned out super good! We got a lot of different compliments from people about it! I am very pleased. Then we went and finished the shed and went and got a book of Elder Hansen's signed by sister Bates' mom. She was the author of this book so Elder Hansen bought it and got it signed! Maybe I should do the same! We also got to watch the demolition derby! From about 3 miles away using binoculars!
