Zone Conference!

Hello people of the Email list! This week has been a very uneventful week! For the most part we stayed in Klamath and Medford the whole week. Kinda sucky if you ask me. We went up to Klamath on Sunday night because we had plans to head to Crater Lake for P-day. Then we had zone conference on tuesday. Zone conference is where we get all of the missionaries in the lower half of the mission come together to listen to President Weekes talk. It is super fun because I got to visit with some of the missionaries that I havent seen in a while! I got to see Elder Peart. Sadly, Elder Graf is in one of the Northern areas. So I didnt get to see him sadly. Otherwise President Weekes talked about how the Book of Mormon combined with the spirit is the best resource for conversion. He also talked about how "The Atonement" has become a huge slang for us missionaries. He wants us to start saying it is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I loved Zone Conference so much! I just enjoyed meeting and interacting with a bunch of the missionaries in the mission.

The only day we were at home was Wednesday, it is kinda crazy how much my area travels just because we are so far out of the way. I had President Interviews on Thursday as well as my first Exchanges with Elder Hughes! I am going to be straight up honest with yall. I am not a big fan of exchanges. Exchanges pretty much are we exchange companions for a day. I had to go spend the day in Klamath again. It was just rough because I have stayed in Klamath pretty much all week.

But I will tell you what happened. Both the lesson and the service fell through while we were up there. So we went public finding downtown. This was kind of cool because in LakeView we rarely do finding similiar to this. We were given free food and got to do a little bit of service for the lady. We had no idea what to do with the food so we just walked around handing it out to all the homeless people in the area. I feel like this was a good use of the food. A couple of the guys were very grateful for us and our hospitality. So guess what they did!? They gave us a Reptile Terrarium. It was so random but moments like this make the mission amazing. Then they wanted to say a prayer with us. It was one of the strangest prayers I have ever been a part of. Elder Wellock started it because the homeless guy wanted him to. Right before Wellock ends one of the guys started saying his own prayer. He kept saying stuff like, "I am grateful for this world GRANDPA THE CREATOR" Now I have no idea at all who this "Grandpa the Creator" is so Elder Hughes and I tried not to laugh during the prayer. I really don't try to judge people for their beliefs. But he said "Grandpa the Creator" like 50 times in his prayer. I guess people all pray differently.

Anyways, So now we are walking down town with a Terrarium. It was like really awkward to hold because there wasnt any place to grip with my fingers. Kinda strange Right? We decided to give this terrarum to a thrift shop. So we walk in and the lady at the front desk was a little skeptical about the whole thing but she still took it thank goodness. I have no Idea what we would have done with this glass cage thingy. We decided to look through this thrift shop because we are there. So we walked around and found an air hockey table. Elder Nelson really wanted it for the apartment. So us being us, we went up to the lady and wanted to pay for it. She gave it to us for free. We didnt have to pay anything for this air hockey table. So now we are walking down town with an air hockey table and we loaded it up into the car and now they have an air hockey table in the quadpan.

This all happened in 2 hours. It is crazy how much God blesses us. We would not have had this awesome opportunity if our other appointments didnt cancel on us. We would not have met the free food lady and met the grandpa the creator guy as well. The little tender mercies Heavenly Father provides makes the mission experience so much cooler. Even though I did not enjoy the exchange a ton I still got to know my temporary companion Elder Hughes pretty good. He likes playing the guitar pretty good. He has this voice where he immitates the Joker and it made me laugh so hard. Anyways, I am so glad to be back in LakeView for the next week. It makes me super happy to be back doing things with my hands again. Elder Hansen and Elder Miller (More Elder Hansen) Got to dig out a stump for the Bates family because he made the "Hansen Promise" to her that he would. I wish I could have been there to help out. Hansen told me he was a little bummed I couldnt be there because Miller didnt work very hard. He just stood there.

Now for the spiritual part. I saw Gods hand in my missionary work a bunch of times this week. The major one was with the lady and the free food. Another is with our amazing landlord Amaron. He helped Hansen and Miller take out the stump with an Excivator. Machines like that are so so cool. God inspired those for the use of man. We also had the opportunity to build a cabinet for an elderly couple and it was so fun! I am grateful for the ability to do that to help them out.

Last thing is I got to speak in church yesterday. I got to speak about how to build up your testimony and the importance of having it. If you want to listen to it ask my mom I believe she recorded it for some reason. Not saying it was a good talk but you can choose for yourself. My grandma told me I speak with my hands a lot which is news to me.
