Pickleball And Bashers!

Image
Welcome back to my email! I am still here in Oregon! Still doing the same things I have been doing for 18 months! So here are the highlights! Exchanges with Elder J Scott We had exchanges with our zone leaders earlier this week! I really like my zone leaders! They are some of my favorites I have had in a little while! We had a great time. We had a service with one of our newly baptised members and we started talking to her and she started talking about how she wished she could go to the temple but she couldnt because of some of her problems. She is a really interesting lady. I like her but she has some issues. We had a couple of very nice weather days this week as well! It made us super happy! We went and played pickleball with a bunch of people at the courts and a lot of them told us they have met with missionaries in the past! It was kind of awesome about the wonderful things the missionaries have done for the people in the area! Plus we got to talk to them while getting schooled at ...

Hanging Out With An Instagram Star!

Hello Hello my friends and my family! I hope you are all doing well! Thank you all for the birthday wishes! Especially the Gilbertsons for driving all the way from Merlin to come hangout with me! I love you guys! I appreciate the support! Now I cant blame all my problems on my troubled teenage years! But dont worry, I know guys that never seem to grow out of being a teenager! ;) *Cough* my dad *Cough.  Anyways, This week has been really interesting! Ever since ive been put into the area I feel like I have been struggling. I went from Merlin to here. Where we were teaching a ton of people to nobody. So this week I decided to put my head down and just get as much done as possible.  Last week at interviews I was talking to president and he told me he has been wanting to change our area as well as the area next to ours to a bike share area. He knows our area has a ton of hills and it it just a pain to bike up those things. So we get the car 2-3 days a week. Tuesday and wednesday a...

Still Here!

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well! This week has been nothing too crazy! We did have a couple of things that ended up working out. We had tons of strange weather here! It rained like every single day and even snowed for a little while one evening. I am grateful for the nice rain jacket I was able to bring on the mission! Anyways, Here are the highlights!  I literally have been thinking about what to write about for 5 min. I have no idea. But here is how the work is going.  Every single day we are out for 3-5 hours walking around in our area or out playing pickleball. We knock on the doors that we feel like we should knock on. Sometimes people are there. Most of the time they arent. The people that answer look at us like we are crazy and shut the door. Other times we talk to sommeone asking for john and they are like yea hes back here. Some other man answers a couple minutes later. (Presumably John) And he straight up says we are at the wrong house. We just had your wif...

The 3 Levels Of Missionary Work

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well! I hope everyone is keeping up with their goals and resolutions they have set up for the year! It is an exciting time! Lets get into the week! On Tuesday and Wednesday this week we were lucky to have a car. A bunch of elders had to drive up to Eugene for MLC so we got to use the car for those couple of days! We tried to hit every house on the far side of our area. Our area is full of crazy hills and I really do not care to bike over there. Unlike Medford 3rd ward. DIstance is not a problem. But the hills kill ya. We hit all those houses over there and just tried to set up lessons with them. Most of the time we can arrange a ride if we get something set up. But no successes came from it! Maybe a couple of member lessons. So far that is it. We got to talk with one of my zone leaders grandpas who is good friends with president this week as well. He was a mission president somewhere and he wanted to share a couple of things with us. So we jump ...

New Beginnings!

Hello Hello! Yall know the drill! Lets get right into it! There has been a ton going on this week! We had exchanges right before transfer day with our district leader! He went up to Merlin with me and we had a ton of success! One of our ward members is working with this lady named Shauna and her and some of her family came to church! Shauna has came a bunch of times and her granddaughters get really mad at her when they cannot go to primary. It is so funny!  Anyways, we had a lesson with this family and i think everyone seemed interested in talking with us and seeing what it is about. We set up a follow up time for friday. This made me so happy because I have been praying to find a family that is interested. Everyone we find out here in oregon are all single people. But you hear stories about people finding a full family and that is just what I wanted! This was a miracle in my eyes! God answers prayers. One of the best days on the mission.  Then everything went downhill... We ...
